NK Update

Just a quick update on the state of NK Nation.

The WoW Division continues to motor along. We are currently 3rd on the server for 10 man progression having downed 4/6 Heroic MSV and 2/6 Heroic HoF. We look to be primed to have a great start to the 5.2 patch which should be hitting in the next couple of weeks.

The GW2 Division moved over to the Jade Quarry server after the collapse of WvW on the SBI server. A contingent of NK players have made their home with Strike Force on Jade Quarry.

There has been some noise around the Firefall Beta and we will keep an eye on this upcoming shooter. We also have a fair amount of people scattered about playing Planet Side 2.

NK is in its typical lull after a strong showing in a game that didn't live up to everyone's expectations. That said we will keep our eyes open for what lies on the horizon. Please stop in and say hello.

Mogu'Shan Vaults Cleared

Congratulations to the members that cleared Mogu'Shan Vault!!! After much perseverance on Elagon, and more then enough wipes then I care to count, Elagon melted. The Will of the Emperor proved to be quite the pushover and he died after just a few attempts. Next up will be work in the Heart of Fear as well as some Heroic progression in MSV.

NK now sits at number 5 for 10 man progression on Hellscream. Lets keep pushing that rank!

Northern Kings set for Guild Wars 2 launch

Welcome to our overhauled website and multi-gaming platform!
NK's 12 year march continues....

For those of you that have been following along, thank you for bearing with us as we made some sweeping changes. For anyone that we haven't seen in a while, a lot of work has gone in to overhauling the NKings site and VoIP client in preparation for the launch of Guild Wars 2.

Guild Wars 2
There is a tremendous amount of excitement here at NK in regards to the launch of GW2. We have allied ourselves with Animosity, Xen of Onslaught, All out Assault, the Sentinels and Malum Factum amongst others. What makes this a truly unique opportunity is the fact that several large guilds from around the world that are members of the Alliance also, which will allow us to have a server presence in WvW regardless of the time we are playing. Combined with the coordination and talent of these guilds, as well as ours, we look forward to some WvW domination.

Outside of the Alliance and WvW, NK is planning on jumping in to GW2 with Competitive PvP teams, experiencing the PvE content and really enjoying all GW2 has to offer. We will be having an NK State of the Union Address followed by formal announcements of our GW2 plans in the next couple of weeks.

I want to give special thanks to Nost, Imi, Thorton, and Chausser for all the work that they have put in around the launch of our GW2 Division and new site. From setting up our GW2 webpages, recruiting new members, interviewing candidates, and participating in the BW3 weekend, thanks again for all your efforts.

Everyone probably experienced a specified amount of delay this evening, don't worry! We just switched from nkings.enjin.com to nkings.com! This means that the transition to the new site is complete!

Also, if your wondering why it's not northernkings.com, it's because that's the same of a Nordic metal band, and the domain name is taken. Some of the members that were with us in Warhammer may remember this, but for the new people, here you go!

Website Update

The website revamp is in full swing now. Imi has been contracted to develop some slick headers for us. My apologies for the sorry banners were running now. Each division has its own main page and forums page as well as separate recruitment. For general (non game specific) discussions please keep them in the NK Nation Forums. We are still on the hunt for the old artwork in its large unadulterated state, if you have any of it please let me know.

If you are interested in GW2 and are in NK already click here to apply and check that you are a legacy NK member and we will set you up.

We will be moving to Mumble. Check out the recommended settings here. I actually increased my quality to max with no ill effects. A little tweaking may be necessary but I think in the long run this will be a win win for everyone. I really love how natural it is without people talking all over each other. I ask that everyone embrace a little change and give it a whirl. I think you won't even know the difference after a week or 2. You can link to our Mumble server right from our website with the little gray M at the top left of any of our website screens. Do make sure your running it as administrator.

We have 2 releases on the horizon. GW2 and MoP are both eagerly anticipated by many of our NK brethren. Please keep your feelings to yourself if all you can do is trash one game or the other as all you do is wreck others gaming experiences.

As for myself, the basement is polystrened, sprayfoamed, studded out and the electric will be pulled this weekend. Then I'll have to wait on my plumber, HVAC guy, and drywaller before finishing up. Once that is all tied up you will see more of me for good or bad...
